Duff Goldman takes cake artistry to the next level in Super Mega Cakes, where he faces off against top talent to create stunning, larger-than-life edible masterpieces.

Premiering on Sunday, 6 July at 16:05 CAT, this six-part series sees Duff and his team take on six elite cake artist teams in the most ambitious cake-building challenge ever featured on the channel.Legendary chef and artist Duff Goldman has been battling top-tier opponents his whole career, but the new series Super Mega Cakes pushes his skill and talent to the next level. In the six-episode series, Team Duff goes up against six teams of the country’s best cake artists over the course of four days – all at once. With themes from Superman and Architectural Wonders to Classic Cartoons, the results are mind-blowingly realistic pieces of edible art with intricate details and interactive elements.
Each episode focuses on one head-to-head build to impress judges Sherry Yard and Amaury Guichon, who will determine each week’s most successful cake, while Duff must juggle all six projects at the same time. Special guests joining the judging panel include Eric Bauza, Beck Bennett, Paul de Gelder, Jack Osbourne, Drew Scott and Jacques Torres. In the end, the finalist cakes are presented and tasted by a 50-person audience who will name the grand champion. Super Mega Cakes premieres on Food Network Africa on Sunday, 6 July at 16:05.
“These life-sized sweet creations are unlike anything anyone has ever seen – there are cakes with holograms, cakes that float, even cakes that have cameras inside,” said Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Duff and these incredible cake artists pushed culinary limits in every episode, and we cannot wait for our viewers across Africa to see each masterpiece.”
In the supersized season premiere, Duff meets the six exceptional Super Mega Cakes teams and learns the theme of each challenge. In the first head-to-head battle, Duff is joined by his invaluable right-hand man, Geof Manthorne and the Charm City Cakes team in a life-sized Superman-themed challenge against a renowned British cake artist and her team. Each must create cakes with designs and flavours inspired by Superman, including an animation element. Judges Sherry Yard and Amaury Guichon are joined by actor Beck Bennett to determine which Superman creation flies above the rest. Upcoming cake themes include an Under the Sea challenge with a floating element and Alien Invasion requiring a lighting scheme. In the season finale on Sunday, 10 August, the final cakes are presented and tasted by a 50-person audience who determines which cake deserves the grand prize.
Duff assures his fans that there is much to look forward to in the new show, especially after the epic show, Buddy vs. Duff. “ After Buddy vs. Duff, there was nobody my team could take on who could beat us. Not an egotistical way — well, a little ego — but we know what we’re doing. We had to handicap my team to make the competition more challenging,and this is the way they did it: We have to take on six teams at once on Super Mega Cakes. Viewers will feel our stress, but I hope they can see past the insanity and see how much fun everyone was having. It was crazy, but we were having a lot of fun. And you can tell because when people are having fun, that’s when they’re doing their best work.”
