The twists, turns, humor, and drama of Mzansi’s most-watched reality show, Big Brother Mzansi Season 5, have finally come to a thrilling end! While some housemates celebrated, others were left in tears as the winner was announced — and what a moment it was!
Sweet Guluva’s Big Win
Real name Akhonamathemba Mbele, the 23-year-old football player and barber from KwaZulu-Natal stole the hearts of Mzansi and walked away with a jaw-dropping R2 million. Known affectionately as Sweet Guluva, Akhonamathemba’s charm and authenticity resonated with viewers.

Speaking to the Sowetan on Monday afternoon, Sweet Guluva admitted he was shocked by the overwhelming support he received from the nation.
“I didn’t know I was this popular in Mzansi until Sunday night when my name was called,” he said. “I felt like peeing myself as Smash Afrika [the presenter] was about to announce the winner. I was so nervous I was shaking! When he called my name, I lost my mind. I couldn’t believe it — but more than anything, I’m so grateful for the love and support I received while in the house.”

It’s safe to say that this season of Big Brother Mzansi delivered some of the most memorable personalities yet! The top five housemates kept viewers glued to their screens with their antics, strategies, and drama.
