Sandton City is known as Africa’s most iconic shopping centre with approximately 365 retailers and their creative activations throughout the year are just as iconic. In addition to all the amazing awards it has won, Sandton City has received two honours at the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Global Marketing Awards in the U.S. for professional marketing excellence.

Sandton City stole the show in Vegas when it was recognized for its incredible marketing achievements. The prestigious award ceremony celebrated the retail industry and gave credit where it was due. Sandton City’s 2023 activation during the festive season included Momo’s Magical Adventure which was awarded a silver MAXI Marketing award. LEGO, Your Dream Car Generation was the second activation and it was awarded a gold Global Visual Victory award.
During the 2023 festive season, families had plenty of entertainment at the centre as Momo’s Magical Adventure took to the stage. An original live theatre production curated by an award-winning creative team. The production took place in the Sandton City Center Court. With the likes of Lyall Ramsden as the producer and Kirsten Harris as the production director, the audience was met with a delightful treat. In addition to the awards, the lead actress Tebogo Molepo won the best performance for young audiences at the Naledi Awards.
Among their amazing awards, Sandton City was the first ever place to host the LEGO Your Dream Car Generation activation and they went above and beyond. They created an extraordinary experience where individuals were able to generate their dream cars in a deconstructed car manufacturing garage. There were no limits to what an individual could create as graphics, animation and an interface control panel were included in the experience.
