It’s a neighbourly war as AMATUKS has the toughest draw.

After beating DSTV Premiership side Moroka Swallows, Pretoria University has been rewarded with a date against runaway top tier log leader Mamelodi Sundowns following a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal draw held on Monday at Multichoice Studios in Randburg.
AmaTuks will host their Neighbours in a match that they would admit they don’t want to have… at least at this stage of the tournament.
Fighting for a promotion spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Sly Mosala’s side will get a true taste of what life awaits them should they get promoted to the elite league.
Granted they faced Musa Nyatama’s side in the preceding round but with a plethora of problems at the Dobsonville Stadium-based side, the Dube Birds are not Sundowns.
The Chloorkop side had a frustrating Sunday night game against another Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Maritzburg United, before two late Thembinkosi Lorch goals in the second half saw them through.
The array of stars under Rhulani Mokwena are expected to easily beat a side that has a number of their former teammates at the helm that include veteran Samuel Julies and Harold Majadibodu. Striker Thabang Sibanyoni is likely to cause the biggest threat to his parent club.
Not that the unbeaten Sundowns will take them lightly…
“I had an opportunity to go watch them play against Swallows and they deserve respect for being the only lower division side in the competition “acknowledged Mokwena who has a tight schedule that includes a trip to Tanzania to contend with before a trip to the nearby Tuks Stadium.
“For us the most important thing is to go out there and enjoy ourselves as we represent this important institution,” said coach Sly Mosala as he spoke at the draw to SuperSport TV.
In the other fixture, Defending Champions Orlando Pirates travel to Durban to face AmaZulu in an all-PSL affair.
Steve Barker’s Stellenbosch FC will then host Gavin Hunt’s side SuperSport United, while Chippa United will hit the road to Mbombela Stadium to battle it out with TS Galaxy in another game that could go either way.
The venue and dates of the games will be announced in due course.
