After 15 years in the music industry, renowned South African musician and producer Zakes Bantwini prepares to retire.
Bantwini, whose real name is Zakhele Madida, has been touring and performing nonstop all over the world for a time now as a result of the enormous popularity of his chart-topping hit “Osama” and its follow-up, “iMali.”
Now, Bantwini is set to close off his music career with the release of a new album titled “Abantu”, that is set for release in November. In a media release from his company, Independent Media Group Africa, Zakes has confirmed the release of his final studio album.
“This record follows his highly acclaimed, multi-platinum-selling album “Ghetto King,” which includes singles like “Osama,” “Imali,” and “Girl in the Mirror,” according to the press release.
Although the musician has stopped releasing songs, he still appears to be making ripples on the national and worldwide scene. Zakes, however, has received nominations for seven SAMA awards and has achieved enormous popularity globally because to his famous song “Osama.”
