His love for music sparks from a very young age – he recalls being in the Sunday School choir at church being one of his favourite things he did growing up. Fast-forwarding to a couple of odd years later, the rising star went on to KZN Howard College to pursue an BA degree with honours in Music and Drama. “Growing up in a church and having a musical background kindled my gift because my parents were in the choir,” he stated . As a result, his family guided his music career, and his favourite aspect of being a singer is being able to help people escape reality for a minute and recover through music.
Recently, Thabiso released a hit single titled Jwayela, which quickly became a Tik Tok duet challenge and made it on the trends list for weeks on end. Through his song’s success on social media, it inevitably made its way to radio stations and as of late on tv screens, as he has recently released a music video for the track.
One of the difficulties he faced was having his music heard, but he overcame this by receiving a platinum plaque for the song Impilo yaseSandton, which he wrote and sang along side Kweyama Brothers and the late Mpura. He is, currently an independent musician who has managed to survive the music industry’s pressure. His music is available on all platforms, and he continues to motivate a large number of young people to work hard and improve their abilities.
